Mariposas is a board game that simulates the life cycle of monarch butterflies. Players guide their butterflies north in the spring, spread out in the summer, and return south in the fall. The game is played over three seasons, with scoring rounds at the end of each season. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins. The game includes wooden butterfly markers, player score markers, action cards, life cycle cards, bonus move cards, flower tokens, waystation markers, life cycle ability tokens, a map board, a waystation board, a flower die, and a rulebook.
