Researchers at KLORANE Laboratories selected an extract of red Cinchona: Cinchona calisaya Wedd. species because its bark is naturally rich in Quinine, a molecule with powerful, scientifically shown and patented stimulating properties.​ORGANIC Edelweiss is a flower grown on Alpine mountain tops, known for its resistance to the most extreme conditions. To avoid wild harvesting and endangering the resource, the Edelweiss used by Klorane comes from organic crops grown in Switzerland at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. Klorane selected the "Helvetia" variety due to its suitability for the growing conditions and its high content in active ingredients. The aerial parts are harvested by hand between the second and fourth year of cultivation, when the Edelweiss is in bloom. The plant is then dried by small local farmers.
