Apply Liberally apply the self-tanner to the large areas of your body. Then, apply small amounts of the sunless tanner to the areas on and around your joints (knees, elbows and ankles). You'll need to let the lotion dry for at least 5 minutes before heading out the door. To be safe, avoid lighter colored clothing until the end of the day or your next shower. 7.
