Why is a one-time application sufficient?

Immediately after application, Lamisil Once forms an almost invisible film that releases the active ingredient terbinafine into the underlying skin layers for up to 72 hours.

The unique film effect of Lamisil Once ensures that the terbinafine accumulates in the affected skin areas. It remains in the skin for up to 13 days after application and is effective against the pathogens that cause athlete's foot.

Other medications use active ingredients such as clotrimazole, which inhibit the pathogens from multiplying but do not kill them. Therefore, they must be applied up to three times a day for up to four weeks. This is the time that the skin on the foot needs to completely renew itself and thus remove the fungal pathogens.

In contrast, the active ingredient in Lamisil (terbinafine) helps killing the athlete's foot pathogen and thus works independently of the skin's renewal process. Therefore the application time is much shorter. In the case of Lamisil Once, even a single application is enough for athlete's foot between the toes.

Application of Lamisil Once

Wash both feet and especially the infected skin areas with warm water and soap, then dry them thoroughly. Wash and dry your hands before applying Lamisil Once.

Remove the lid and treat both feet, use approximately half the tube for each foot, as much needed to cover the entire foot. Complete the application one foot at the time.

Apply the medication on both feet with your fingers according to following instruction:

1. Start by applying the medication between, under and on top of all toes. Continue with the sole and the sides of the foot. Do not massage into the skin

2. Treat the other foot in the same way, even if the skin looks healthy. This is to ensure that you really get rid of the fungus - the other foot may be infected even if it is not visible.

3. Let the medication dry to a film for 1-2 minutes before you put socks or shoes on.

4. Wash your hands with warm water and soap after the treatment.

5. Do not wash your feet for 24 hours after treatment.
