The giraffe Calf is born at the end of a 15-month period and already measures 2 m at birth with a weight of approximately 80 KG. At birth, its legs are longer than its neck. Giraffes give birth to their young standing upright. The legs generally come out first and the giraffe Calf falls from a height of almost 2 m. It quickly learns to stand to suckle the rich milk of its mother and will stay with her until two years of age.
